FUFU&GAGA dressers and chests cover every bedroom storage shape: wide double dressers with 6 to 9 drawers, 12- to 16-drawer storage chests, tall vertical chests for small rooms and nightstand-size 3-drawer chests. Whether you are furnishing a primary bedroom, a small apartment or a kids' room, the right size keeps the room easy to move through and your clothes organized. To choose, measure your wall width first, then match the drawer count to your storage needs and decide whether you prefer a long top surface or a smaller footprint.
Bedroom Dresser or Tall Chest: Which Shape Fits Your Room?
A bedroom dresser is low and wide, with drawers side by side in two or three columns and a top surface for a mirror, lamp or décor. A tall chest stacks drawers in a single column, so it uses vertical storage instead of floor space and still gives easy access to every drawer. Our dresser vs. chest of drawers guide also explains double dressers, lowboys and gentleman's chests.
| Type | Typical size in this collection | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Double / 9-drawer dresser | 45–71" wide, 30–37" tall, 6–12 drawers | Primary bedrooms, shared spaces, a long wall |
| Tall chest (vertical dresser) | 23.6–31.5" wide, 40–47" tall, 4–6 drawers | Small bedrooms, kids' rooms, nursery corners |
| Small 3-drawer chest | 30–31.5" wide, about 30–32" tall | Nightstand, entryway, hallway |
| Glass-top multi-drawer chest | 62–63" wide, 14–16 drawers | Walk-in closets, jewelry and accessories |
Sizes to Check Before You Buy
- Width: the median dresser here is 59" wide and the widest is 70.9". A 63" nine drawer dresser is the most common size in the range.
- Height: most horizontal dressers are 30–37" tall (median 32.1"), a comfortable waist height. A tall dresser or chest reaches about 40–47".
- Depth: most models are about 15.7" deep, slimmer than many traditional dressers, which saves floor space in tight bedrooms. Leave roughly 30–36" of open floor in front so drawers can open fully. Our dresser dimensions guide covers bed-to-dresser spacing.
- Drawer size: check "Main Drawer Interior" on each listing. Shallow drawers (about 3.5–5" tall inside) suit socks and accessories; deep drawers (7.5–8.4") hold sweaters, folded clothing and blankets.
Construction and Drawer Hardware
Most pieces are crafted from a combination of solid wood and MDF for sturdy construction and practical storage, and most have a finished back, so a versatile dresser can face a bed or work as a sideboard in shared spaces, not only stand against a wall. Nearly every model runs on metal slides; 29 add roller glides and a few use ball-bearing slides for smoother travel. Many list a drawer safety stop and a weight rating for the largest drawer, from 11 lb on shallow drawers up to 55 lb on deep ones. Our dresser quality checklist explains what each spec means.
Chests & Dressers by Style and Feature
Styles run from minimalist white or black finishes with clean lines to rustic woodgrain, fluted fronts and gold handles, so it is easy to match a bed frame or matching nightstands for a calm, clutter free bedroom layout.
Seven models include built-in LED lighting, such as a 9-drawer dresser with app-controlled LED lights and a charging station. Others add an LED mirror, fluted or high-gloss fronts, or a tempered glass top that turns the dresser into a display area for jewelry and beauty essentials. For a dedicated beauty setup, browse makeup vanities; for a nursery, see changing tables.
Tip-Over Safety
Dressers and chests are clothing storage units under the federal STURDY Act rule, which builds on ASTM F2057 stability tests for free-standing units 27" or taller and at least 30 lb (CPSC details). In this collection, 57 of the 70 models with safety data ship with a tip-over restraint kit, so check each listing. Attach every dresser to the wall to prevent tipping, especially around children; our guide on how to anchor furniture to the wall covers hardware and wall types.
Assembly, Delivery and Returns
Almost every piece ships flat-packed and needs assembly; most listings suggest two people and a screwdriver. One solid wood chest of drawers arrives fully assembled. Every purchase ships free to the 48 contiguous states and DC; most in-stock orders leave our US warehouses within 48 hours and arrive in about 7–9 days. You get 35-day returns on unused, unassembled items, a 2-year limited warranty (1 year on LED lighting components) and a replacement parts service if a panel or slide is damaged.
Dressers & Chests FAQs
What is the difference between a dresser and a chest of drawers?
A dresser is low and wide, usually around waist height, with drawers arranged side by side in two or three columns and a large top surface. A chest of drawers is taller and narrower, stacking four to six drawers in one column, so it takes less floor space. In the US the words often overlap. Read our dresser vs. chest of drawers guide for the full comparison.
What is a double dresser?
A double dresser has two columns of drawers side by side, typically six to eight drawers, under one long top. A triple dresser adds a third column, often nine drawers. In this collection, double dressers run from about 45" to 63" wide and 30" to 37" tall, so they suit a primary bedroom or a couple who need ample storage space for clothes and linens.
How big is a 9-drawer dresser?
Most 9-drawer dressers here measure about 63" wide, 31.5" tall and 15.7" deep, with multiple drawers that keep belongings organized by category. The range runs from a compact 47.2" wide model to a 70.9" wide version that stands 37" tall. Measure your wall and leave about 30–36" of open floor in front so the drawers can open fully. See our dresser dimensions guide for spacing tips.
What is a tall dresser called?
A tall dresser is usually called a tall chest, chest of drawers or vertical dresser. Older terms include tallboy and highboy, which originally described a chest-on-chest with a wider lower section. The tall chests in this collection are about 40" to 47" tall and 23.6" to 31.5" wide, a suitable choice for small bedrooms where floor space is limited.
Do dressers need to be anchored to the wall?
Yes. The CPSC recommends anchoring dressers and other furniture to the wall to prevent tip-overs, and federal rules now require a tip restraint with covered clothing storage units. Most FUFU&GAGA dressers ship with a tip-over kit; check the listing for your model and install it before you fill the drawers. Our guide on anchoring furniture to the wall shows the hardware and steps.
Can I put a TV on a dresser?
You can, but only if the dresser is wide and deep enough for the TV's stand, the piece is anchored to the wall, and the TV itself is secured or mounted. The CPSC advises placing TVs on a sturdy, low base and pushing them back as far as possible. Our dresser top guide covers TVs, mirrors and lamps.
Are FUFU&GAGA dressers hard to assemble?
Nearly all dressers ship flat-packed with hardware and instructions. Most listings suggest two people and a screwdriver, and some recommend avoiding power tools. Larger 9-drawer models take longer because each drawer is built separately. If a part arrives damaged or missing, our replacement parts service reviews requests within 24 hours.
How are dressers delivered, and can I return one?
Shipping is free to the 48 contiguous US states and DC. Most in-stock orders dispatch within 48 hours from US warehouses, with typical delivery in 7–9 days to your front door. You can return unused, unassembled items in original packaging within 35 days; damaged or defective items reported within 14 days are handled at no cost.
